Customize any product in your beauty regimen with Cover FX!

Pure pigments are concentrated doses of color, add those to your makeup routine and you have options. Whether you’re using MAC Pigments, or Cover FX’s Custom Cover Drops pigment makeup is multi-functional and a must-have for anyone’s makeup bag. Cover FX offers something different though, these drops of pure pigment can be mixed with moisturizer, primer, even foundation to create the perfect match to your skin. Every drop provides more coverage, until you can use this pigmented color as full-coverage foundation.

Here’s the even better news: this makeup doesn’t contain Parabens. It doesn’t contain Sulfates, Synthetic Dyes and Fragrances, and it doesn’t contain GMOs. In fact, Cover FX claims that they formulate this pigment with non-comedogenic products, meaning their products are formulated so that you don’t break out; specifically, they do not strip your skin of it’s natural moisture by breaking down your skin’s natural oils in order to work it’s magic.

Cover FX’s Flash Fusion Technology is what turns your favorite skin care product into your new favorite makeup. The best part about these pigments are that you can mix them to make a color that matches you, meaning that if the 25 colors Cover FX offers don’t match you perfectly, adding them into moisturizer or your powder foundation can make this pigment suit you perfectly. Cover FX’s website also offers a Shade Finder, meaning that if you do not have a Cover FX makeup bar near you there are still options for finding your match.

This pigment is the real deal. You can mix it with anything liquid, it doesn’t contain parabens or GMOs, and it will give you the coverage you want with just an extra drop. This makeup is groundbreaking, and worth the trip to the makeup counter for.

Stella & Dot Family Brand on Top of Its Game with Latest Additions

Remember Stella & Dot? That cute little multi-million dollar jewelry company that epitomizes female entrepreneurial power? After about 8 years of success, they decided to spread their wings and open a charm bracelet company in the September of 2014 and, more recently, a line called Ever Skincare in the February of 2015.  While the charm bracelets appeal to the younger demographic with a lower price point and a more playful take on design, the skincare line boasts top of the line, all natural products geared towards the original Stella & Dot woman.  The successful brand family remained consistent with their business approach too: all of their lines offer customers the chance to be brand ambassadors. Proof that this incredibly successful San Francisco Company embodies girl power from start to finish.

The original power house came out with its summer line most recently. 8 years into the game, they’ve added bags, scarfs, and (most recently) tunics to their product list.

The middle child of the brand family offers everything from time pieces to Greek letters in their constantly growing collection of charms.

The latest and greatest in the Stella & Dot brand family promises a product that is “free of parabens, sulfates, phthalates, propylene glycol, synthetic fragrances and colors, chemical sunscreens, and hydroquinone.” In other words, its products exclude all the artificial stuff found in most off-the-shelf brands to save your pores some serious damage.

Nars Cosmetics Lashes

Make up never is complete without mascara. If you're lucky enough and you have long lashes, you only need a good mascara. But for many of us with very little lashes or very short lashes we need an enhancer. MAC has been known for being the number 1 place for lashes until recently Nars Cosmetics "lashed out". The makeup brand debuted  its range of false eyelashes  “ready to wear and ready to stare” as of May 1st, designed by Francois Nars himself. Each set is made from natural fibers and are, thankfully , 100% reusable.

Red for Strength, not Attention!

Red lipstick has been used by women for decades as a means of attracting attention. But did you know that Red Lipstick in fact more than anything else is about female strength ? Yes, it wasn't always socially accepted and back then women wearing red lipstick were seen as vulgar and easy. "The first and most famous manifestation of red lipstick was in fact in New York when the suffragettes took to the streets, banded together, and as part of their defiance and fight for the vote, they all wore bright red lipstick," explains Madeleine Marsh, author of "Compacts and Cosmetics," During the war women wore red lipstick as part of the fight against enemy. How about it?
But not everyone liked red lipstick. French fashion designer Coco Chanel found it along with red nail polish vulgar, complaining that house guests left stains on her glassware and table linens. With time however, red lips became a fashionable and stylish tool for 21 century’s Fashionistas. Wearing red lipstick really does make women feel more confident, powerful and gorgeous. Carrying your red lips alongside denim short and a tee makes a playful combination don't you agree?

Marvelous Mousse by Marc Jacobs

If you are a fan of liquid foundation, you absolutely have to try Marc Jacobs Marvelous Mousse Foundation. As I was walking by Sephora store at Stanford Palo Alto I suddenly remembered that I had buy a foundation to cover blemishes I recently got. I am not a big fan of foundation or powder, I prefer not to apply anything to my face except for mascara and a little bit of lip gloss. But my face was in such condition that I had to find a temporary solution to hide it.
As I walked into the store, I saw a new line by Marc Jacobs. I love Marc's clothing and did try his lipstick in the past and loved it.  I asked an associate to test Marvelous Mousse. In my mind I was ready for a heavy and dry foundation that most likely will smudge as the day goes by or mix with everyday sweat and worsen the look of my PMS blemishes. I was very much surprised as I was applying the foundation. Despite the fact that it felt so light, the coverage it did for my blemishes was outstanding. I also found that it is OK to use under the eyes to cover dark circles or to freshen up the look. It doesn't highlight the wrinkles like other foundation does. It's a great buy!

DIY tips on Flawless Ombre'

  1.  Get Educated - The only way to have a fab DIY ombre hair is to make sure you actually know how to do it right. There are plenty of YouTube videos for you to see. Find a few good once and take notes.
  2.  Get an Example - Find an example on your favorite celebrity or friends so you have a general sense of what you want to achieve.
  3.  Choose the Highlight Kit - Head over to Target or your local beauty store and find that perfect kit. Try to find a dye with bleach built-in so that you don't have to bleach and dye your hair separately. It damages your hair a lot!
  4.  Use Foil - Apply your bleach and dye generously and use foil to prevent them from drying while doing their magic on your hair.
  5.  Separate your hair - Do not do all of your hair at once especially if you have thick or long hair. Separate them into two layers. Highlight the ends of your bottom layer first and take your time and remember to cover each highligh with foil.
  6.  Make each foil a different length so it looks like your hair gradually lightens rather than abruptly.
  7.  Pile on the dye towards the ends - that is where the lightest part should be.
  8.  Don't overbleach!
  9.  Highlight and Blend!
  10.  Use purple shampoo to wash it it will tone down your hair and give you a more natural tone.
  11. Rock it!

Through thick and thin, this list is worth a brows

Brows are still having something of a moment. Not a day goes by that we hear of amazing brows on celebrities and brows too have a history. Let's dive into Ancient Egypt where Queen Nefertiti sported arched brows darkened with powders made of minerals. During The Middle Ages, forehead was the most important feature which is why women often removed eyebrows and eyelashes. During 1920-1930 women sported extremely thin and straight eyebrows. In 1970 - 1980 various shapes of eyebrows were favored, including thicker and more natural brows. Today it is  Cara Delevingne's brows that dominate the catwalk. Here are the best thick brows celebrities.
