Hot Hair Date Ideas

Need tips for perfect hair?

Date is a romantic part of all relationships between male and female and all of us ladies want to make sure our outfits and hair is on point. Check out these hot hairstyle ideas.

#1. Polished Loop

This loop requires a little patience and a few pins, but it's worth it. Create a deep side part, then work a dime-size amount of hair gel through strands to the ends (try Bumble and Bumble Gel), brushing it back into a low, tight ponytail. Separate the ponytail into two sections. Fold the lower section under itself, pinning the ends to the roots of the hair. Then wrap the top layer around the base of the ponytail and secure with pins.

#2. Sexy Volume

Start by running a dime-size amount of smoothing cream (try L'Oréal Paris Vive Pro Glossy Style Smooth Gloss Anti-Frizz Cream) through damp hair. Blow-dry with a round brush to create body and then wrap one-inch sections around a large- barrel curling iron, starting at ear level and wrapping hair away from the face. Break up the curls with your fingers, and finish with a mist of shine spray.

#3. Sleek Center Part

To get hair this straight, smooth an anti-frizz serum, such as Alterna Caviar Anti- Aging Color Hold Polishing Serum, over damp hair before blow-drying it with a paddle brush. Finish the hair off with a flatiron to make it look shinier and smoother.

#4. Defined Ringlets

Finger-comb curl cream through damp hair (the amount you use depends on how much hair you have, but don't be afraid to really use the product). Use Moroccan oil Intense Curl Cream. Let it air-dry, or blow-dry it using the diffuser, then polish curls with a small-barrel curling iron. Pick out the naturally existing coils, wrap them around the iron and then spray them with shine spray.

#5. Glamorous Waves

After blow-drying hair with a round brush to create volume, create a deep side part. Set hair in hot rollers and let them cool for 15 minutes. Take them down and then comb out with a brush that's been spritzed with shine spray.

When you make one of hair date style you will really impress your crush.

FORGOTTEN BEAUTY TIPS THAT YOUR ANCESTORS USED

The Often Forgotten Beauty Tips You Must Know

There are a lot of things that the ladies of the past knew that are still useful to know today. Whether they have been passed down through generations of your own family or they are tips we have learned from ancient Egypt, we shouldn’t dismiss beauty advice just because it’s old. Here are beauty tips that your ancestors would have known all about.

Lip Scrub

Sea salt, 100% pure vegetable glycerin, rose water. Mix and apply on your lips.

#Body Scrub

1 Cup gram flour, 1 Big spoon of plain yogurt, little bit of lemon, sandalwood powder, Turmeric (add milk if needed). Apply on your body and scrub it. Rinse with warm water and Voila!

Dry Scalp Treatment

Full fat yogurt, tea spoon of honey, 1 egg. Apply and keep on for 30 minutes. Rinse with baby shampoo or warm water.

Eggs

The first mention of eggs being used as an ingredient in skin care treatments dated back thousands of years to the Chen Dynasty in China in 600 BC. While they may not have had mayonnaise readily available like we do, they still used egg whites to tighten the skin and they knew that the protein in eggs would moisturise and nourish their skin.

jg5.jpg

Rose water

The benefits of rose water are far more wide reaching than we give it credit for. This is another beauty treatment that dates all the way back to ancient Egypt. Back then, it was used for tightening the pores, as an antiaging treatment, and as a cleanser.

Marie Antoinette’s age defying gloves

If anything was going to give away your age, then it would be hands. Marie Antoinette kept her hands soft and wrinkle free by wearing gloves at night that were lined with sweet almond oil, wax and rose water.

Ice water

Splash your face with ice cold water twice a day and that will cleanse your skin, tighten up your pores and remove excess oil. It might be a bit old fashioned, but a lot of beauticians still recommend this treatment today.

Avocado

The healthy fats in avocados are great for the skin, but the ancient Aztec civilizations discovered that centuries ago. Today, you can use avocado oil to keep your skin looking healthy. It’s easily absorbed and it nourishes and moisturises skin without clogging up the pores.

Green tea

The ladies of the east have known about its many health and beauty uses for centuries. It is the antioxidants in green tea that are responsible for its anti-ageing properties, and there is now research being done to discover that green tea can even reverse the signs of ageing. How about that ?

Off-White's Virgil Abloh and Jennifer Fisher Collaborate on Earring Design

It's all about global warming!

Who would have expected that Jennifer Fisher and Off-White’s Virgil Abloh will design together.

Abloh's Fall 2017 collection themed of global warming will have Jennifer Fisher's touch to it with earring designs.

Environmental harm is the inspiration behind the design. Fisher chose wire for the hoop earrings. Priced at $275 for a single earring and $535 for a pair, 14k gold with yellow-gold-plated brass or silver-plated brass with a rhodium finish.

“I wanted to express something wasteful, like the radiant heat electrical stove,” said Fisher.

Abloh's parents are from Ghana. He was raised in Chicago. He received his Masters of Architecture at the Illinois Institute of Technology and his undergraduate in Civil Engineering at the University of Madison-Wisconsin. Abloh was the art director for the 2012 Jay-Z / Kanye West album Watch the Throne, for which he was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Recording Package. INÉS FIGAREDO

Madrid-born Inés Figaredo's signature surrealist collection features unique everyday object-bags (like a lipstick) as well as less familiar styles including a hard-shell harp, and multiple eye embellished pouches in leather and fur. Read about the designer.

Foto: Mirta Rojo

Foto: Mirta Rojo

She is a woman full of secrets. Her work is Surrealistic. It's hard to imagine that pink-haired designer, INÉS FIGAREDO was born in Madrid and was a law school graduate who fled to London to become a broker. It was the artistic side that took over and in 2011 Inés Figaredo formed her own label. Inés creates timeless, wearable objects, conceived for the distinguished woman seeking to express her poetic attitude. Each carefully crafted piece is made to be passed on for generations to come. The bags are a smash street style hit.

Joliegazette: Where were you born?

Ines: I was born in Madrid, Spain.

Joliegazette: What triggered passion for designing?

Ines: It was an automatic reaction to my inner nature.

Joliegazette: Why bags?

Ines: For me, it could only be bags. My need of contention, the obsession of having a containment, which hosts, holds and secures shelter to the everyday requirements, led me to the bag. To its shape and its nature. Taking that as a starting point I shape them and use them in order to tell stories and freeze emotions.

Joliegazette: Do you think a bag can be an extension of your personality? Why?

Ines: Yes, all the choices we make about the things that accompany us reveal plenty of information to the audience. They draw the image people get from us. Among the hundreds of choices one could make, why the bag? Any answer to that indeed says something about a person.

Joliegazette: What is your design process like?

Ines: There are designers who sketch and then there are designers who can sew and construct. What do you do best?

I have never had a needle in my hands (yet!). I live in a world of ideas although, I paint and build up pieces of art and use them for the bags all the necessary means the idea requires for its materialization.

Joliegazette: What or who inspires you?

Ines: Stories inspire me. Stories about people mostly, the complex web of relationships that surround us, and how we deal with them. Overcoming, desperation, sacrifice, will, thirst of acceptance, and need for connection.

Joliegazette: What materials are used for your bags and where do you produce them?

Ines: We produce our handbags in Spain with the most exquisite materials from each sector. Leathers, silks, metal ware, precious or semi-precious stones. I want my ideas to have the best possible vehicle.

Joliegazette: Who is your muse?

Ines: There are a lot of different things that inspire me - from works of art to mythology and other types of storytelling as well as personal experiences, however I don’t really have a “muse”. There isn’t anyone I think of when it comes to my creative process. It comes a little more from the heart!

Joliegazette: How interested are you in what's going on in the fashion industry and the whole buzz around it?

Ines: I really don’t pay much attention to it. It’s all noise to me. Joliegazette: As an accessories designer, what are the greatest struggles you face when creating new collections?

Ines: Urgency. Everything nowadays seems to be urgent. There can be lot of restrictions when it comes to designing, whether its pricing, practicality or marketability. I welcome those challenges but I think it’s important to be loyal to yourself if you want to convey the right message. It’s important to know whose opinion you trust and can turn to for guidance.

Joliegazette: What piece of advice do you have for young entrepreneurs?

Ines: I would say to them understand what your vision is and stick to it. Be humble of course, learn, listen and revisit strategies every now and then, but there are too many gurus out there. And the compass should always be inside you.

Joliegazette: What is next for Inés Figaredo?

Ines: I'm excited to launch my Spring/Summer’17 collection and working on an exhibition event to debut my Fall/Winter ’17 collection later this year.

I would like my bags to give individuals the wonderful freedom to dream of being a different person, living in a different time with a different name. Luxury to me is the ability to create our own happiness through the way we reinvent ourselves, in whichever way that may be

THE IT BAG - 'NINA' BY GABRIELA HEARST

The most popular bag you've probably never heard of

A few in the industry of fashion can master producing an It item. It's not an easy task. Designer Gabriela Hearst makes it look so simple.
Her 'Nina' bag has a waitlist of 100 plus names, her first-ever bag.
How did she do it? Well, with women who inspire and support other women.

“I did a limited edition of 20 bags; I didn’t do it for commerce, I just wanted to launch it,” she said. “And I gave them to friends of mine and to women I work with. The woman who makes my shoes has it. And Brie Larson, the actress, has it.” Miroslava Duma, the Russian street style star and publishing entrepreneur, got snapped carrying hers at New York Fashion Week. Larson, for her part, was photographed carrying the smallish, top-handle bag with fold-over closure, which Hearst says is inspired by her love of the artist Fernando Botero, on the February weekend she picked up her Oscar for Best Actress. Just like that, the emails started coming in.

“We had retail stores asking for it, and I said ‘No, we’re going to keep it,’ ” Hearst shared. “And we’re not going to sell them online, either. You have to email. If you really want the bag, you have to email.” A novel sales strategy, to be sure, but that’s not the only thing Hearst is doing differently. “It’s so hard to explain this to the factory, but there’s just one bag. I tell them, ‘No, I’m not launching a collection, I’m designing one bag, and you’re going to sell a lot of one bag. And after this I’m going to sell another bag to go with this bag.’ ”

'Nina" comes in two colors, black and cognac, and goes for $1,995.

ANNIE LAWLESS

Get to know Annie Lawless. She is a yoga instructor and a Certified Holistic Health Coach. Her appetite for Fashion,  healthy eating and exercise will inspire you. Today, she blogs at Blawnde.com and video blogging on Blawnde YouTube channel. Whether it's a post about recent outfit inspiration, a What I Ate or her latest travel adventures, she intrigues an impressive number of readers. Annie took time out of her schedule to speak to JOLIEGAZETTE about fashion, style, health and wellness.

How did the idea of creating a blog come about?
I started my blog in January of 2013 because I was seeing through my social media channels that people wanted to know more about me as a person. I was the face of our juice brand, but people wanted to connect beyond a product. What I was wearing, where I was going, what I was eating, and the products I was using on my hair, skin, and nails were all topics of curiosity and the uestions people were continually asking me. I created my blog as my own little orld to connect with, inspire, and share with my audience in a deeper way.

What is the meaning behind the name Blawnde?
My last name is spelled Lawless and I’m blonde, so I merged the two into "Blawnde”, which is really just an alternate spelling of the word “blonde”. I wanted to give a cheeky nod to the notion that people assume girls like me with fashion blogs who care about makeup and clothes are dumb blondes. On the flip side, I am a business person and an entrepreneur, and I pride myself on being very hardworking and savvy. I wanted my blog name to acknowledge the stereotype and play into it as my carefree little fashion space on the internet, but show that I can also be smart and driven as well. There are no rules and we don’t have to fit within the boxes people put us in.

What is a perfect formula between foods you put in your body and how you look and feel?
There is no “perfect” formula. Our bodies and needs change all the time. The most important thing to remember when selecting the foods you put into your body is to consume them in the most whole, unprocessed form possible. When you listen to your body and treat it with love and care, you want to nourish it with the highest quality foods that leave you energized and feeling good. Your meals will change with your life and your schedule, but always make the highest quality choice you possibly can, and your body will respond favorably with glowing, hydrated skin, bright eyes, and energy to do all of the things you love.

What are the no-nos you see people from the health and wellness industry do online?
I see a lot of judgment happening in the health and wellness industry among those with contrasting dietary and wellness philosophies. Some people can become very consumed with their beliefs on health that their minds close up to other ways of being. The internet has become an easy way for healthy, productive conversations to turn ugly and escalate to an unkind place. I have been vegan, vegetarian, raw, and now I eat a little bit of everything, so I understand many different dietary perspectives from my own personal experience. They all something wonderful and beneficial, so finding what’s right for you will look different than it does for others, and that’s ok. We are all evolving and changing throughout our lives and different things work for us and feel good at different times. There is no need to feel that one way of eating is superior to all others and berate people for their choices. We are all doing the best we can to be healthy and live our best lives.

What are your beauty and health tips while traveling?
My biggest tip is to stay hydrated! This is such an underrated concept, but we really get dehydrated when we fly and run around more than usual. My other important tip is to enjoy yourself and try not to stress so hard about being perfect. If you want pasta or gelato in Italy or a margarita in Cabo, let yourself indulge a little bit without beating yourself up. You will be back to your normal routine soon enough and it is good for the mind and our health goals to loosen the reins from time to time. The key to indulging safely is to treat your diet like a bank account and know you have a little extra in the bank while traveling, but spend it wisely and don’t overspend. Try the pasta OR gelato, not both in the same day. Have ONE margarita, not four. If you keep yourself in control while making smart indulgences, your waistline won’t suffer and you will come home from traveling
feeling great.

What is your guilty pleasure?
Salty, greasy anything! Always and forever. I don’t have a sweet tooth at all, but a bag of salty chips or greasy Mexican food is not safe around me.

What is your style philosophy?
Keep it simple and invest in the classic, timeless basics. I would rather save up for a few beautiful, well made, designer pieces a year than buy a bunch of cheap crap I will be done with after a couple wears. Having a few key items like a classic flap Chanel bag, a black or nude patent Louboutin pump, a great fitting pair of skinny jeans, and a cashmere sweater will stand the test of time and work
for so many different looks and occasions.

What inspires you?
Life! Everyday when I wake up, I am inspired to make that day the best yet. Life is so short, so spending my time doing things I truly love each and every day with people I love is what inspires me to do everything I do.

What is next for Annie Lawless and Blawnde?
You will have to wait and see! I might have a couple ideas up my sleeve…

Tanaka Massage

Facial yoga that keeps you young

Many of us would like to look younger, or slow the aging process.

Skin care product manufacturers know this, which is why the market is flooded with anti-aging creams and moisturizers that are filled with harsh, cancer-causing chemicals.

But nothing beats the natural methods. One such method is known as the Tanaka Massage, invented by a 65-year-old Japanese woman named Yukuko Tanaka.

The Tanaka Massage requires nothing more than your two hands.

One of the ways the Tanaka Massage works is by facilitating proper lymph drainage. The motions of the massage also work to contour the skin and eliminate droopiness, sagging and wrinkling.

The best part? It takes no more than 5 minutes, meaning you can easily fit this into your day. You can even do it at the office when you need to take a few minutes to de-stress.

Take a look at how it's done!

Unruly curls

Hit of the Season

Model to blame is a twenty-two year old Argentinian, Mika Arganaraz.
Mika is a tall brunette with a shoulder-length curly hair.
" When I first came to Paris , everyone said that I should get rid of the mess on
the head and straighten my hair , - she says . And I was sure that my hair is what
made me unique, so I asked a friend who was a barber to cut my hair shorter so it
curls even more.
Mickey's desire was a life-changing. That same season she booked all the major shows
from Louis Vuitton to Dior, then starred in Prada and Chanel advertising.

Thanks to Mika, curly girl became the most desired on runways. And this summer it
is officially a curl boom.
Curly, voluminous hair was in style in the eighties. Youngsters
imitated Madonna's hair from the music video "Like a Virgin", more mature women all
looked like the heroine of the "Dynasty" series with Joan Collins.

Nowadays there are plenty of products to help curl straight hair.
Use hair curlers, boomerangs and the secret is to grab a thin strand of hair. And if
you want them to last longer, apply mousse before curling.

Beauty Tips from Cindy Crawford

From food she simply can't survive without to instructions for creating luxurious curls to favorite morning smoothie. Cindy Crawford in her fifties looks amazing. Here are five beauty secrets from super model of the 90!

Cardio, walking, sit-ups - stick to the diversity in the daily workouts

I like fashionable yoga and jogging, but the old yoga technique works better. It was taught by my trainer Radu, with whom I worked on a cycle of video-based aerobics. Now I have another coach who I work with three times a week at home. With him we do press, we squat, thrust and weight and step. After the birth of children and recently, before heading out on a tour with my book, I slow down a bit. But now, on the contrary increased intensity cardio and interval training. I also enjoy walking in the hills and ride a bike on weekends.

Start the day with a wholesome smoothie

Every morning I make myself a smoothie: in a blender whip spinach, half a banana, raw cocoa beans and fresh mint with almond milk and protein powder. It's delicious and filling.

Relax, meditate and visit sauna

Recently, our family took a course of fundamentals of meditation. I don't do it regularly, but it was very interesting to evaluate its beneficial effects on yourself. This new relaxation technique works every time whenever I need to. My favorite relaxing ritual is an infrared sauna: half an hour in it with a good book and I am a completely different person.

Sunscreen - Always!

Since age 30 I use my own makeup line(Cindy Crawford has its own line of cosmetics called Meaningful Beauty). Dr. Jean-Louis Sebagh constantly updates and improves it. I am also a fan of microdermabrasion (mechanical exfoliation of the upper layer of the skin), this procedure is performed by the greatest Hollywood beautician Cristina Radu. For me, good UV protection is very important. My skin is quite easy to tan, I always grab the first available sunscreen. I do not go to the beach without a hat and glasses.

Combine business with pleasure - take care of hair during sleep and during exercise

I like to do several things at once because good care takes time and every minute counts. For example, if I know that I would wash my hair after school, before put on the hair mask. More recently discovered Lush mask with jasmine and henna, I advise everyone!

Unfortunately, my hair is not as thick as before. Constant change of hairstyles and colors seriously harm them for years. I try not to wash my hair every day, and less often use a hair dryer. If I go to bed with a bun of damp hair they dry up in the morning and the waves are pretty as a nice bonus. The secret is to tie a bundle without a hair tie, instead I use a hair clip.

HEALTH AND WELLNESS TO HOUSES ACROSS AMERICA WITH SONIA JONES

Interview by Carolina Rodríguez Hernández for JOLIEGAZETTE
Photos by Hailey Wist

A wife of hedge-fund businessman Paul Tudor Jones, Sonia Jones is a Founder of Sonima and Co-Founder of Sonima Foundation. Sonima Foundation brings health and wellness to schools across America, helping thousands of children, focusing on the under-served. Her inspirational yoga journey began when she devoted herself to restoring her health after having four children and a back surgery. Jones and her husband are both noted for their philanthropy across many causes and groups including Robin Hood Foundation, the Everglades Foundation and of course, the Sonima Foundation.

Can you describe to us a childhood experience, which influenced your business career, especially your relation with the wellness industry?

I grew up in Sydney, Australia, where so much was naturally healthy and organic. What I mean is I spent so much time outside, especially at Bondi Beach. Aussies are very outdoorsy people. Also, I grew up eating so many fruit and vegetables. It was just our lifestyle to eat what was in season. So in a sense, my whole childhood experience influenced my business career.

Could you give us an insight into the creative process behind The Sonima Foundation?

There is the Sonima Foundation and the Sonima website. The Foundation, which came first, came out of my own experience with health and wellness. After my fourth child, my body was pretty broken—four Caesarean sections and a back surgery. Slowly, one day at a time, I had to rebuild my body and spirit, and I did it with yoga, meditation, the Egoscue method to relieve pain and restore proper posture, and good nutrition. I was so transformed by my experience that I wanted to make it available to as many people as possible, so I started my foundation to bring health and wellness to under-served children throughout the country. So many of our children are in crisis mode—poor health, poor grades, difficult home situations, terrible levels of stress. And it’s been proven that improving their health and wellness will help them address those other issues more effectively.
The Foundation was so successful then that I was inspired to build the website to freely offer people access to the health and wellness experiences that made me better. It really is that simple. It’s cliché now, but the internet really does make it possible to reach millions, and my goal was to give authentic health and wellness experiences that I knew to be effective to anyone who wanted it.

Who inspired you throughout your career? Why?

To say only one person has inspired me would be insufficient. I have been inspired by a collection of people along my journey to a healthy body and mind. It started with the nuns in my Catholic childhood schools. They taught me to look within to find stability and strength. As I said above, I was also inspired by my typical Australian childhood of the fresh outdoors. Along the way many others inspired me, and some in unusual ways. My husband inspired me because he was completely uninterested in health and wellness. So he taught me how to talk to and reach people who had no concept of health and wellness and didn’t even consider it as a worthwhile option. Then I met people like Pete Egoscue, Patthabi Jois, Sharath Jois and Deepak Chopra, real giants in helping people achieve their best bodies and minds.

What are your challenges?

There are so many. But my biggest challenge is mental flexibility, that is, being open to new experiences. I like routine, I like knowing what’s coming next, and I like not being surprised. So it’s hard for me to be carefree, easygoing and less controlling. Discipline is not at all a challenge for me. My problem is that I’m over-disciplined, too committed to a single path. Unfortunately, sometimes that also leads me to being judgmental, but it’s certainly a problem I’m aware of, and I am working on it. We’re all works in progress.

What is the single most inspiring video you have seen addressing today’s biggest challenges, which include: climate change, food security, poverty reduction, and quality of life for all?

I recently saw that video of Pope Francis washing the feet of Syrian refugees. It reminded me of when he first became Pope, on Maundy Thursday, he washed the feet of some young prisoners in a local prison, and I saw footage of that. That single action has had the largest impact on me. It speaks to his humility and to our calling for all of us to serve others, especially the least among us. If we do that, and if we make that our commitment, then the world will truly improve on a vast scale.

What role does music play in your creative process?

I’ve always loved music. I grew up singing in my hairbrush and thought I was the lead singer of Abba, Agnetha Faltskog. I also pretended I was Barbara Streisand and Olivia Newton John, a real Aussie icon. I knew I didn’t sound like any of them. I played their records and shrieked their songs, but I loved them. To this day, maybe my greatest highlight was my best friend’s mother getting me and her tickets to the Abba concert when I was nine. They actually inspired me in a serious way, though: they helped me realize that there was a larger world than the one I was living in. I loved my world, but they helped understand that there was more. So that’s the role music plays in my creative process: it helped me and continues to help me expand my horizons.

What advice can you share with the world on the importance of empowering others to reach one’s full potential? How do you empower others in your daily life?

I don’t feel I empower anyone. I feel that at the most, like Pope Francis, we just need to be examples of what we want others to be. If we want to inspire love, then we should behave in a loving way. If we want to inspire health in others, then we should live in a healthy way. The most I can do is find out what my passion is and do it. I discovered that my passion was health and wellness, and I do it, and maybe my example empowers others, but if it does, it’s not because I’m on a pedestal, which I shouldn’t be. It’s just because I’m doing it and showing them that they can do it, too.

Which is your favorite destination to disconnect from work?

A yoga mat. I could be in the middle of the most crowded street, but when I start my yoga practice, all goes silent. It all starts with focusing on my breath.

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Perfect happiness is complete gratitude. When I’m grateful, I’m happy, no matter what’s happening. And when I lose my gratitude, which we all can do, then I’m not happy, no matter what’s happening. But I must admit that I’m really, really happy when I’m most grateful for the simple stuff I take for granted—my family around me on a sunny day with healthy food and plenty of water to drink, looking at the ocean.

How would you like to be remembered?

As somebody who tried to make the world a better place in whatever small ways I could.

Who are your top three living thought leaders?

Pope Francis and, honestly, my husband and my eldest daughter, Caroline, a fantastic musician. I’m not in any way putting them on Pope Francis’ level. I’m just saying that their ideas and points of view influence me more than anyone else and inspire me to be a better person.

What is next for Sonia Jones?

Growing the website and reaching and helping more people be the best they can be no matter where they are in their lives, physically and mentally. Just want to continue to play my small part to make the world a better place.
