To be expected during this month, it’s time we become active not only to fashion trends, but with our health. Possibly the most comfortable shoe trend, the mountain boot has been spotted and matched with our love for denim jackets, and thick knit socks. This chunky necessity accentuates longer and slender legs, and gives you the opportunity to style up those casual looks. Ranging from the neutrals to the monochromatic grey, the mountain boot is stomping its way into fashion.

Hard to believe that 2015 has come and gone, now it’s January the Christmas leftovers have been eaten and the all the Champagne drunk. When I reflect on the previous year’s wardrobe choices I am reminded of what Karl Lagerfeld once said and that’s “what I love best in life is a new start”. Every year I watch my spending budget fall victim to the fads of the season. Countless dresses, bags and blouses that I’ll soon retire in the next months to come. 2016 is the year that I resolve to get off"fast fashion retailers" and finally invest in some smart statement pieces. The real guide to dressing for NYE

6 ways to stand out this holiday season.

PASTELS. Traditionally, pastels have been a spring color. However, white is so popular this winter, it's sister colors come along with it. Try wearing a simple powder pink dress accessorized with a white fur coat for that perfect "winter princess" feel. Other great pastels are pale blue, soft lilac, and baby green.

IRIDESCENT. This is perfect for those of you who still want to sparkle on New Years, but want to stand apart from all the girls in gold sequin mini dresses. An iridescent dress or romper is the way to go! You will definitely turn heads with this look.

AVOID TYPICAL MINI DRESSES. Let's face it, we all wear a tiny dress on NYE. Want to be different? Try high waisted flare pants paired with a cropped shirt, a midi length dress, or High waisted shorts with some sparkle transparent tights. For those super confident ladies, don't forget how sexy a leotard can be! Pair a long sleeve leotard with thigh high boots and a floor length coat to be the ultimate show stopper.

AVOID BLACK/SEQUINS. This is the hardest by far, because traditionally these both scream NYE, and are beyond flattering. However, the chances of you looking the same as every other woman in the room are about 90%. Step out of your comfort zone this season!

UNIQUE HAIR & MAKEUP. Try two top buns and the new "glitter roots" trend, or make your outfit pop with white lipstick! The possibilities in this category are literally endless.

As always, be confident in yourself and your outfit. It doesn't matter what you're wearing, your confidence is what makes or breaks you!

How To Wear Your Fall Pieces All Winter Long

The leaves have fallen, the holidays are nearing an end and your fall wardrobe has made its way towards the back of the closet. Take a moment to put down that hanger! It's freezing outside, but that doesn't mean you have to sacrifice your favorite styles get the most out of your clothes. Before you dismiss some of your fall staples, try pairing them with winter basics for a fresh look. Holidays 2015 Must Haves

We have been patiently waiting and now Winter is finally here! With winter comes a variety of events to dress for, especially with the holidays fast approaching. Keeping up with winter trends as well as keeping warm can present a challenge. With these five style tips, we’re sure you’ll be the best dressed through the New Year!

Velvet, velvet, velvet! We typically associate velvet with the Winter season and this year is no exception. We are seeing velvet on everything from accessories, to dresses, to boots! You can’t go wrong.

All hail the midi length dress! Just because the sun went away doesn't mean your love for skirts and dresses has to. We especially love midi length sweater dresses for their ability to cover us up and keep us warm, while still maintaining the ease and flow of skirt wearing.

Over the knee boots! We are seeing these everywhere! Every off duty model, trendsetter, and fashionista is investing in a pair of over the knee to thigh high boots. They look great with your favorite sweater dress or longline vests/coats.

Faux fur is everything! Cold weather is back and so is the faux fur trend. Combining both warmth and style, faux fur is necessary in your closet this winter.

Add a little sparkle! After all, it is time for the holidays and nothing says “holiday” like some shine. Subtlety is not key. Opt for a sequined skirt or cool embellished pants.
