JE SUIS GUY OBERSON

"My work deals with the undefined, with sensuality, and with the interaction between strength and fragility. "

Occupation: Visual artist / drawing, painting and sculptor

Website: www.guyoberson.com

Personal background (where were you born?): I was born in Switzerland. Later, I lived and worked in Berlin. Now I live partly in Paris and partly in the Swiss countryside.

In one sentence what is unique about your work? My work deals with the undefined, with sensuality, and with the interaction between strength and fragility.

Why do you do what you do? In the first place, creating is not a choice, it's just an energy that would burn me if I didn't use it. And in the second place, my activity gives meaning to my life.

What inspires you? Everything that surrounds me, people, nature, politics, art history, mythology, literature... I feel the need to grasp through art everything that touches or disturbs me in my daily life, in my travels.... One of my works is entitled “Can’t Turn a Blind Eye”. I think that sums up my artistic attitude.

Describe your personal style. Gentle and violent. Luminous and serious.

Your ultimate must-have. Sincerity in love, friendship and art.

What superpower would you have and why? The right humor for every situation in life! More seriously, the power to put an end tonuclear waste, which I think is the only thing that can't be erased... not for 100.000 years!

What is next for you? I'm working on a number of projects, including a series of drawings from the photographs of Diane Arbus and Robert Mapplethorpe.

JE SUIS FAITH ALPHER

Occupation: Comedian

Instagram: @faith_alpher

Where were you born? I was born and raised in Teaneck, New Jersey.

In one sentence what is unique about your work? My comedy shows are always unique because every show has a special element or surprise feature!

Why do you do what you do? I do what I do because that's just how I was raised.  My mom worked in New York for 33 years and constantly gave back.  She volunteered.  She loved her family and did the best she could as a single mom.  As I got older I saw that I LOVED giving back too.  But my talents were making people laugh.  I did it without any effort.  It can natural.  I loved Carol Burnett and Whoopi Goldberg. I had their comedy of storytelling weaved into humor and love.  I worked on my craft, took pride in my product and ran with it.  Plus, laughter is healing and I guess I needed IT more than it needed me.

What inspires you? I'm inspired by the stories of audience goers.  I'm truly touched when I receive a message about someone finally feeling free to share their story.  We all have a story.

Describe your personal style. My personal style of DRESSING?  Ummm, ok let's just say I could use a personal dresser.  I clean up well, but my sisters were more of the fashion divas living in NY.  Me?  Well, I tried.  Lol. Still trying! I've been told that my style resembles Lucille Ball, Whoopi Goldberg and Oprah!  I know, right.  I LOVE comedy but it must accompany a message of positivity, growth  AND fun.  Otherwise, it's a waste of your time.....did you mean this OR the other?

Your ultimate must-have. My ultimate must haves would have to be my Arbonne Protein Shake w almond butter and blackberries!  I need clean products to fuel my body.  No gluten please....

What superpower would you have and why? I would definitely have the superpowers of transporting myself back to hang out with my mom and dad whenever I felt like it.  They're in the east.  I'm in the west.

What is next for you? I so excited because what comes next for me is Broadway!!  Off Broadway is equally awesome too.  Hopefully a 6-12 month commitment?  After that touring and speaking my show: Black Girl.  Funny World.  I definitely know TV is waiting for me!!  My mom would be glad that I finally get to use my SAG card again!  (she always told me to pay my dues :-).

Where were you born?

I was born in Memphis, Tennessee until 16 years old. Then lived in Orange County, California. After high school, I was homeless for a spell living up and down the California coast. I landed in San Francisco and no sooner found myself in San Luis Obispo, California for a year. I lived in Utah for four years and now reside in Los Angeles, CA.

In one sentence what is unique about your work?

My approach to any of my work comes from a place of passion, creative risk, and no limitations.

Why do you do what you do?

A never ceasing yearning inside my soul. If I don't give in and feed this creative beast, I ultimately fail at being myself.

What inspires you?

People. Good overcoming evil. Tacos. The ocean. Musicianship. Humility mixed with greatness. Pets who look like their masters.

Describe your personal style.

Quirky humor. Beach bum heart. Relentless spirit. Full of anxiety, yet very relaxed. Ambitious. Hopeful. A fashionably dress surfer.

Your ultimate must-have.

Family nearby.

What superpower would you have and why?

Telekinesis. Because I would be one heck of a skateboarder.

What is next for you?

I have a couple movies coming out soon, and a few film projects I'm hoping to start working on this fall. I'm writing two TV scripts, I'd like to get the funding for and start shooting in 2017. I've been work shopping a novel series I'd like to have more time to write. Also, trying to pump out an album or at the very least more YouTube video of me performing. I've been doing improv at LA's UCB. And continuing to grow my shoe company SoulKix, where every shoe sold we donate to a child in need.

To relax from this crazy schedule, I surf 3 times a week, play basketball once a week, go to the gym 5 times a week, make sure I read from 2 separate books every day, and in December I'm getting married to the love of my life.

Je Suis Kipton Cronkite

"Thinking outside of the box lends a unique creative focus motivating me to consistently come up with fresh ideas to sell or buy art and real estate."

Occupation: Art Advisor and Real Estate Sales

Instagram:@KIPTON

Where were you born?

I was born in Oklahoma and enjoyed a balance of city life and life in the country (on a cattle ranch) where I grew up around horses, cattle, dogs, cats and wide open spaces.

In one sentence what is unique about your work?

I have a background in finance and working on Wall Street, a decade of art advisory expertise and promoting and exhibiting emerging artists, and six year experience selling residential real estate in New York.

Why do you do what you do?

My clients challenge me to find real estate and art that suits their lifestyle, for both an investment and aesthetic reasons. I am blessed to work with clients who typically share a mutual appreciation of art and real estate with a strong interest in design. New clients who have a desire to start an art collection are also able to leverage my experience as an art advisor and curator to add a creative edge to their home. The mix between art and design is unique to the world of those in the real estate world. Not many agents can say they are also an art advisor and have a trained eye for design. I do.

What inspires you?

Artists inspire me every day. Thinking outside of the box lends a unique creative focus motivating me to consistently come up with fresh ideas to sell or buy art and real estate. The creative and entrepreneurial influence of artists also encourages me to stay connected to leaders of change in the worlds of art and real estate.

Describe your personal style.

An artistic preppy style with a downtown, yet classic edge.

Your ultimate must-have.

My iPhone 7, a backup charger and a Starbucks.

What superpower would you have and why?

I would love to fly. I would travel the world and go to as many places as possible.

What is next for you?

I'm the art curator for Prive Island in Aventura, Florida and planning new art curation projects in New York and Los Angeles for 2017 and 2018.
