With multiple major labels and nearly a half-century of fashion-world experience, it would be an understatement to call Donna Karan a design powerhouse. Today she announces her step down from her label to focus more on Urban Zen Company and Foundation. The designer will continue to work as an advisor to her brand which she cofounded with her late husband, Stephen Weiss in 1984.LVMH acquired control of the company in 2001.
