Cher to be the new face of Marc Jacobs

Do you believe in love after love ? We do and so does Marc Jacobs. Designer makes Cher the face of the new Marc Jacobs Autumn/ Winter campaign. It's a major fashion gig for the singer and  great going for the brand as iconic singer is not only knows for her brilliant singing but for her style.

 

Yoko Ono One Woman Show

Yoko Ono has had to wait for some time for her first retrospective at the MoMA Museum of Modern Art. Back in 1971 several newspapers ran ads for a "one-woman show" which Ono was presenting at the museum. But the show was a no-go show.

Today, at the age of 82, her one-woman show opened at MoMa and it's a victory for an artist who was laughed at for too long.

One of her famous artwork is Cut Piece. She performed it twice in Japan back in 1964 where she sat alone on a stage with a pair of scissors and let audience snip off bits of her clothes one by one. And audience does it. Particularly one man who slices her blouse across exposing her bra. Facial expression doesn't change, only an arm goes up to keep her bra from falling. Victimized, but she is not showing.

Clio Awards Recognizes Patrick Demarchelier

 

The Clio Image Awards recognizes some of the most outstanding names in the fashion and beauty industries. Sometime around May, winners receive their prestigious awards at the Clio awards ceremony. This year,  fashion photographer Patrick Demarchelier will be receiving the Clio Image Lifetime Achievement Award for his  success in the fashion industry.

Reese Witherspoon launches a clothing line

It seems  Hollywood is moving towards fashion these days. First Eva Mendez launching her line with New York company and now it's Reese Witherspoon. Her new line Draper James, named after her grandparents (Dorothea Draper and William James Witherspoon) launched today. It includes clothing, accessories and home decor. The line will present the Southern living experience and the importance of charm and grace.
