The Met Gala Prep
Preparations are in full force!
This year’s theme of The Met Gala is “Camp: Notes on Fashion.” In her 1966 book, “Notes on Camp,” author Susan Sontag described “camp” as “the metaphor of life as theater.” Sounds fitting for the fashion parade which will happen tomorrow. Lady Gaga, Harry Styles, Serena Williams and Alessandro Michele will co-chair the Met Gala this year. We are eager to find out who was invited and how will they be dressed. Who will rock it and who will not. Here are how preparations are happening for some of the quests. of this year’s Met Gala.

It wasn't a flash of lightning so much as a slow, uncomfortable tightening in my chest the morning of April 24th in 2013, when I opened The New York Times and saw a glaring headline about a factory collapse in Bangladesh killing over 1100 garment workers.

Museum Donors Are Not Happy Finding Celebrities Smoking in the Met Gala Bathrooms
REBELS WITHOUT A CAUSE

Like the cool kids in high school, these celebrities are pictured smoking in the bathrooms of the Metropolitan Museum of Art during the night's Met Gala. But Museum's donors do not find it cool. #CoolKids gang is reportedy making museum board members and donors complain to Anna Wintour.
One board member was “horrified to go into the ladies’ loo” to find a “host of celebs messing around,” including Sean “Diddy” Combs, Kendall Jenner, and Kim Kardashian. Bella Hadid, Marc Jacobs, and Dakota Johnson, were also caught smoking in the bathroom (as seen in pictures shared on social media).
So much ❤️ @emrata @deepikapadukone ❤️ XPG. #MetGala

A source told the gossip column "Page Six", “The board member stormed right out and complained right away to Anna Wintour’s team. It is so disrespectful to the museum.”
This doesn't end here. They want the smoking celebs to be punished, as second hand smoking kills museum’s art. “As a donor to the Met, I was so insulted to see all these ‘celebrities’ smoking and taking selfies of themselves in the bathroom,” the donor said. “Mostly, it’s disrespectful to the art collection which needs to be kept 100 percent smoke-free. I would honestly like to see these people fined by the city.”

When Fashion and Technology collide
It seems the internet is screaming over Claire Danes elegant choice for the Met Gala. If leaving an impression was what she was aiming for, then that is what she left. Dressed in a Zac Posen gown, and looking like Cinderella for the night, many fashion goers were confused at how this adhered to the theme of ‘Manus x Machina: Fashion in an Age of Technology’. However our questions were quickly answered, when the lights became dim, and the dress began to shine. Innovative at best, Claire Danes surely turned heads with this gown that looked like the night sky. With such juxtaposition between the technology of the lights inside her dress, and the nature aspect of the sky, the combination is fitting and elegant to the point where other style choices just seem ridiculous. Cheers to you Claire Danes, for the beautiful execution and innovation that will leave a lasting impression in the fashion world.

Anna Wintour, lost and sobbing
in the basement at Kanye West's Yeezy Season 3
Last night Anna Wintour (Psst... no selfies at Met Gala) was a guest at late night with Seth Meyers, Wintour's favorite television host. The topic of the evening was ,of course, the upcoming Met Gala and promotion of the new documentary "The First Monday in May". The Met Ball is that rare event that manages to bring together the most illustrious figures in fashion, film, art, and music. This new documentary gives a behind-the-scenes look at the ultra exclusive Met Gala so you can sit back and pretend like you scored an invite to the party of the year.
Anna also shared her misadventure at Kanye West's Yeezy Season 3. Anna, who was seated alone in theVIP sectiondecided to sneak out after Jay-Z and lost her way, ending up in the basement of MSG for half an hour wondering and sobbing until a nice security guard helped the queen to escape. Hear Anna talk about that particular night.
