Latest Beauty Tips and Tricks

The beauty industry is always changing, and every day is an opportunity to learn a trick or two. If you have been out of the game for a while or are just getting started, here are the latest beauty tips and tricks.

  • Please don't touch your face unless it's necessary. Touching your face can ruin makeup and also leave germs behind. *
  • Setting spray is a lifesaver. If you struggle with makeup coming off before you get home, you should invest in a setting spray. This will ensure your makeup stays on.
  • Condition your hair before going for a swim. Conditioners protect your hair from chlorine.
  • Sunscreen is your best defense against ageing skin. Never step out without applying some sunscreen.
  • Dry shampoo comes in very handy when you are in a hurry.
  • If you want perfume to last longer, tap it on your wrists instead of rubbing it. The latter causes it to wear off faster.
  • Avoid using too much concealer. Yes, it may hide dark circles. But it will make you look unnatural and older.
  • If you have a combination skin type, use multiple face masks to deal with various issues simultaneously.
  • Once you are done applying lipstick, put a clean finger in your mouth and pull it out. This may look weird, but it prevents lipstick stains on teeth.
  • Moisturize your entire body. It will make your skin suppler.
  • A facial cleanser is a must-have if you want glowing skin.
  • Freeze your eyeliner before application. This prevents it from crumbling when you are putting it on.
  • Chamomile tea isn't just for relaxing your mind. It can be used to lighten hair.
  • Replace sponges with foundation brushes. Sponges waste a lot of makeup.
  • If you don't have a makeup remover, you can always use body lotion.

You can't learn all beauty hacks overnight. But these tricks should ensure you look amazing. Remember, it may take some time to determine which tips work best for you. Our product recommendations to you are below.

The Right Way to Wear Red Lipstick

There is a shade of red for every woman
— Audrey Hepburn

Audrey Hepburn's quote can be interpreted in literal context, after all, red lipstick does come in different hues.

Depending on the geography and time period, the Scarlet pout has been a symbol of many things. A declaration of independence, a sign of seduction, social status, confidence, seeker of attention or a show of wealth.

Red lipstick is synonymous with power and strength, highly seen during women's suffrage movement (decades-long fight to win the right to vote for women in the United States).

In the 20th century, however, people associated red lips with sexual immorality and sacrilegious traits. Perhaps that's because red lipstick carries sexual undertones that make women’s lips stand out and appear sexier.

There is nothing wrong with women wearing red lipstick today if she wants to boost her sexual allure and stand out among her peers.

If red lipstick is your armor against the rest of the world, feel free to paint your pout red. Lipstick is a known confidence booster. Need that extra nudge when it comes to public speaking, go for a powerful shade of lipstick (we suggest a rich red).

Do

  • Know what shade is right for you.
  • Remove excess color after applying.
  • Do take care of your teeth. Remember your teeth stand out when you wear red lipstick.
  • Wear it right to help you boost your confidence
  • Match your lips and nails
  • Wear it with all black everything!

Don't

  • Don't wear bright red when you have smokey eye makeup.
  • Don't let it transfer to your teeth please.
  • Don't over do it with the rest of the makeup
  • Don't wear bright red when your outfit is filled with colors.
  • Don't wear bright red with pink blush or pink anything please.
  • Maybe don't wear it when you're meeting your potential In-Laws.
  • Best not to wear it at funerals.

Few tips to keep in mind:

  • Remember red lips is part of an outfit. Style it well.
  • Don't always have to use a lip liner. Sometimes just red lipstick is enough.
  • Keep Q-tips handy for midday touch-ups.
  • Red lips give you confidence boost.
