Aging can catch up to a person before they know it. The body and the skin need plenty of care and attention. Before jumping into plastic surgery, try these anti-aging tips to help a yourself look and feel good.

Add Vitamin A

One of the ways to reduce cell irritation and reduce the appearance of wrinkles is to use vitamin A. This vitamin will help protect against fine lines and uneven skin tone. Vitamin A is involved in immune function, vision, reproduction, and cellular communication. Good sources of vitamin A (retinol) include:

  • cheese
  • eggs
  • oily fish
  • fortified low-fat spreads
  • milk and yoghurt

Pass on Sugar

Sugar is bad for the skin and can lead to a sign of aging. Foods that are high in sugar have been shown to increase advanced glycation end products which will lead to wrinkles and decrease collagen production. Stick to a diet high in protein and vegetables.

Sugar damages collagen and elastin. It deactivates natural antioxydant enzymes. How do you know if sugar is damating your skin? Here is how:

  • The surface of your skin looks hard and shiny.
  • Deep, crosshatch lines appear along your upper lip.
  • Discoloration and hyperpigmentation mark your skin.
  • Deep crevices appear, especially around the laugh line area.
  • The skin around your jowl area is sagging.

Stay Hydrated

Water is important for the full body and it is important for the skin. If a person is not drinking enough water the skin will look dry and dull. This will lead to the development of wrinkles. Staying hydrated will give the skin a healthy glow. A person should not wait until they are thirsty to drink water. They should sip it throughout the day.

These are some tips to help reduce the signs of aging. A person is going to get older but that does not mean their skin needs to show it.

Giulia: What inspires you to do this work?
